Ragged Along

Solo Show || Sept 8 - Oct 29

Idea Exchange Preston Gallery, Cambridge, Ontario

Both intimate and universal, rags are used across classes and cultures becoming unique palimpsests ingrained with powerful stories from our lives. Ragged Along re-frames and reenacts more than 200 donated cloths into new installation, performance and video pieces. This series of work expands my research on residues, resilience and femininity, and urge us to reflect on the leftover pieces of unclean stories that rightfully shape us.

My work has been featured in some beautifully crafted and thoughtful publications created by all-female collectives of artists: NUT, edited by Liza Lacroix and Alli Melanson from MAW Gallery, NYC, and Accordion, edited by Maggie Jensen.

This Art Works!

I had the honor to be featured in "This Art Works", a 90's throw back CBC series created by MadeleineCo and starring some of my absolute favourite artists making art for change.

Stitching Stories

In January-March 2017 Paola Gomez and myself co-facilitated a textile and storytelling workshop with a group of Latin American elder women. We had a fantastic experience and their work will be exhibited at North York Arts in the Fall!
