Wish I was here
And they gathered and lodged and yarned and yearned all life long
This work speaks to the different rituals we perform with the intention of being present and making others be present with us.
The work stems from the experience of participating in circles of women, sitting around a fire, telling songs and singing stories.
As ordinary or commemorative events, these gatherings nurture personal and collective memories and histories, even when their members are no longer there.
