Carnívora (2015) was an interdisciplinary art project that explored cultural, personal and geopolitical aspects of food and the animals we eat.
The project was a collaboration between Katheryn Wabegijig, Sooyeong Lee, Tarin Mead and Dana Prieto, with the generous mentorship of Anishinaabe artist, curator and educator Lisa Myers. Together we researched, gained food related skills, cooked and connected with food professionals and organizations. During this time developed a series of programming with farmers, hunters, cooks, butchers and artists. The resulting research and experimentations have been exhibited in December 2015 at 26 Exhibition Space, Toronto.
This project was supported by the Neighborhood Arts Network Access Fund.
